Hi sweet angel bbys, I really hope your week has been better than mine! Nothing happened, I’ve just been super duper anxious. Haven’t had this much anxiety when absolutely nothing is wrong in a long time. I think I have to up my adaptogens.
This week we have quite a few things to get through. I would think that’s exciting for you since you are subscribed, but you also just might be a nice friend supporting me. Either way, grateful, thankful, love u.
Yeah, fashion month is over, but fashion shows never really… stop. That being the case, there’s some shows we can’t NOT discuss!!!
Gypsy Sport is a brand that draws from the Chicano American experience and designer Rio Uribe’s experience as a queer man. This collection beautifully displays all the sub-cultures of a culture that many are a part of and many appropriate. The streetwear, the swag, the glamour, it all worked together to create a fun and authentic collection.
You know, I’m not gonna lie, this wasn’t my favorite Alexander McQueen show, but I do think Sarah Burton understands the brand; she worked with Lee after all. People saying otherwise doesn’t sit right with me. I liked the meshing of masculinity and femininity and the weather inspo. Cumulous cloud sleeves, deconstructed suits, and the mix of leather and denim were some of my favorite elements of the show.
The wet looks from Di Petsa will always amaze me and if I do get married one day, the goal is custom Di Petsa. It’s always nice to see something different than the signature dress, especially because Dimitra Petsa drapes and accentuates the body in such a lovely way. This is definitely her most “wearable” collection and I am looking forward to seeing the direction she takes her brand.
Susan Fang is an emerging designer that I have enjoyed following so much! Her work is so ethereal and fun. Materials like chiffon and tulle have been used and manipulated time and time again, but Fang actually makes it interesting. The collection felt like a light and airy fairytale.
Coach was exposed for destroying bags on TikTok, so they will no longer destroy bags. We did it Joe! The brand was cutting up bags that they deemed damaged or unsaleable, which is ironic since they have a repair program for their bags? Anyway, they’re planning on being hashtag sustainable now.
I’m sad. The comfy and cute loungewear at Entireworld will be no more. The brand really peaked last year during the pandemic when we were all stuck at home and were seeking comfort, but as people start feeling hopeful of a COVID free world, I assume sweats aren’t everyone’s first choice anymore. They’re have a final sale right now, so I highly recommend checking it out.
I’m including this in this week’s newsletter, because although there will be gender neutral children’s sections in stores, this does not include clothing??? The law only applies to toys and “child care” products. It’s obviously good that this is happening, but clothing is one of the most gender conforming things in society when it really should not be at all. If we want to just let kids be kids, then that should include what they wear.
-Timothée Chalamet for TIME; Obviously fashion is not the focus here, but y’all know we can’t skip any Timmy features. One thing I don’t know if I mentioned before is that Timothée often styles himself, which I appreciate. I don’t know how much of that he still does, but his choices are better than that of some stylists, so.
-Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly for GQ; I have never been more confused by a couple. Generally speaking I don’t care about people I don’t know, so I don’t really care about celebrities, but Megan… is everything okay? Every time I read something about them I feel like I’m reading a Wattpad story. Megan looks hot obviously, what do you want me to say? There were Dolce looks unfortunately. Styling by Hunter Clem.
-Zendaya for InStyle; If there’s one thing Zendaya is gonna do, it’s work a camera and give us a moment. Love the styling of this shoot, from the hair, to the makeup, to Law Roach’s magic touch, it’s lovely. Styling by Law Roach.
-Bad Bunny for Allure; I love Bad Bunny and I love that he isn’t one to ever just wear a plain black tux. This shoot was so fun and I also loved the makeup looks. Styling by Herin Choi.
-Whitney Peak for Numero Netherlands; This shoot is STUNNING! All these references are just too good. Styling by Raz Martinez.
- Colin Kaepernick for Ebony; My favorite thing about this shoot is how the color schemes of the outfits match the landscapes. Styling by Law Roach.
-Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet for Entertainment Weekly. Listen, I know that the whole cast was in this shoot, but really, it’s this video that has me in a chokehold. Uhm also, Timothée’s Loewe pants??!!! Timmy’s styling by Erin Walsh. Zendaya’s styling by Law Roach.
-Adrien Brody for GQ; I’ve never been attracted to this man, but suddenly??? Styling by Jon Tietz.
-Lourdes Leon for Interview; Miss Lourdes gave Bottega moment after moment!!! Also read this interview, and she seems cool as fuck. Styling by Mel Ottenberg.
-Ashton Sanders for Man About Town; I’ve been really loving seeing this Gucci collection so much, tbh. The feather sleeves are amazing. Styling by Corey Stokes.
-Victoria Pedretti for Euphoria; Okay Love Quinn! Give us a moment! Styling by Dianne Garcia.
Dula Peep in David Koma has the girlies in a chokehold as usual.
Naomi Campbell in Kenneth Ize, as she should!!!
Lizzo in Matthew Reisman Collection is GIVING!!!
I hope this student is having a wonderful day.
Jamie Lee Curtis dressed as her mom’s character in Psycho for the premiere of Halloween Kills, and honestly, what better place to wear this?
Dakota Johnson in custom Gucci. Love when a custom look is in line with a collection.
This is honestly a cute moment from Hailee Steinfeld!
MEG IN PRADA!!!
Love Josh O’Connor in Stefan Cooke!
Miley in George Torch. Are you kidding???
AND WE’RE DONE!!!
Until next time, love you.
