Hey kids. I’ve had a strangely good week? Energy shift, 11/11 portal vibes or whatever. Anyway, I went to a comedy show on Thursday, but honestly who cares because what’s more important is that before the show I walked down the block behind André 3000; it felt like a good omen. Anyway, let’s get into the fashion things that should be more interesting given the amount of money these people have.
Mother released Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 , and… I’m underwhelmed. It was so dark, I was squinting the whole time. I don’t even know what the lingerie looked like.
Jean Paul Gaultier released a ready-to-wear collection entitled ‘Cyber’, inspired by their FW1995 ‘Les Amazones’ and SS1996 ‘Cyber’ collections. Although obviously still pricey, this is a lot more affordable than the original runway collections, so, get your JPG!!!
- Jennifer Lopez for Vogue; Anna sure does love a red dress as the cover shot. In this case, I do think the the Valentino dress with a large rosette on the top is really lovey. The shot itself is inspired by a photo of Eartha Kitt, but I’m not understanding the connection here. There’s a lot of nice movement in the way that the clothing is shot, but there’s really nothing crazy going on. Also, lest we not forget this is American Vogue after all, so your fave gray backgrounds are not missing. This behind the scenes shot is very Annie, and it’s interesting how she suddenly knows how to light someone properly. I must admit, that Marc Jacobs looks is super hot. No further comments. She ate that one. The Maison Margiela has a bit of wedding dress energy, and given the fact that J.Lo did get married recently, I wonder if that was the intention. I wish a better Balenciaga Couture dress had been chosen; perhaps the red or pink one with the shark fin-like protrusion on the back. Styled by Alex Harrington.
- Jennifer Aniston for Allure; Well, Allure sure did go out with a bang by putting Jennifer Aniston on their last physical copy. I have mixed feelings about this. I think for most of Jennifer’s career, every photoshoot has focused on how good she looks and how you can still be hot even while you’re aging. This cover seems to be attempting to do the same thing, but it feels far too manicured; Jen got the Kardashian treatment for this shoot. Also, does she have a skincare or haircare brand yet? If not, it’s definitely coming. Listen, I like the Chanel micro bikini, although I wish someone would wear the even more micro one instead, and I like a Gucci g-string, but this makes no sense for her? Also this outfit does not have Labrador energy; it’s giving doberman or Rottweiler, maybe Dalmatian. I mean theres some great shots of her, I’m just confused. Styled by Shibon Kennedy.
- Nicki Minaj for i-D; There’s not too much fashion here, but I think i-D editorials are really cool, and Nicki looks great. I love this bad bitch Schiaparelli Haute Couture queen look, but I also love this more casual moment, and then the Alaïa?! SO good. I love when Nicki does her more out there looks, but I also love these more subtle moments. Styled by Carlos Nazario.
- Anya Taylor-Joy for Harper’s Bazaar UK; Just in case you weren’t sure if Anya was still under her Dior contract, here’s your answer! So she gave us full Dior fantasy, or nightmare depending who you ask (me). Listen, I think Dior did a very brilliant thing by making Anya their brand ambassador, because she does a lot for these clothes. This shoot is giving American Gothic, Spanish, horse girl, witch energy. You get me? There is no denying the craftsmanship behind these clothes; the details are beautiful, but the clothes are not. I really don’t need anymore of MGC’s prairie dresses and unnecessary belts, or whatever this is.
- Adidas announced that they will still be selling Yeezy’s under a different name, and I think they are missing the point of that shoe completely. Anyway, brands are so unserious.
- We got more visuals on the Stüssy x Dries Van Noten collab, with Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers being featured in a campaign. I’m still not sure we really needed this to happen, but here it is.
- Harry gave us a little HA HA HA promotion, and I love that little grumpy bear so much, but I will not be purchasing one of those t-shirts<3 Anyway, you know I love a little pink and blue color combo.

Next he brought back his Care Bear cosplay, and I’m also here for it. Really love the color of those purple leather pants; I feel like they should smell like artificial grape. Anyway, very good color story.
Finally, do you guys remember Lazy Town? Tell me this isn’t some shit a character on that show wouldn’t wear. Anyway, I’m not sure why there’s one rogue leg, but okay!

- Blair Waldorf is alive and well. Leighton Meester gave us a little Prada FW2000 slay in this lovely little brown velvet number; a woman after my own heart. Miuccia loves a brown moment, because of how most people find it to be an unattractive color. Not I. Anyway, while florals might be not be the obvious choice for a fall collection, they work really nicely here in these warmer colors and heavier fabrics. The dress fits her really nicely, and I like the subtle cowl at the neckline.
- Elizabeth Debicki, my 6’3 queen has been making her rounds in promoting The Crown, and she’s turned some looks while doing so. First she wore Dior Haute Couture to the London premiere, and looked really beautiful. I know I don’t often have good things to say about MGC’s Dior, and while this is simple, it’s simple done well. I think the low strapless neckline is done really well, and I like how the pleating on this wrapped top matches that of the scarf. You can just tell that this dress is crafted in the most lux materials. Also, it seems that this is an homage to a dress that Princess Diana wore herself, and since Elizabeth is playing Diane in the most recent season of The Crown, I think that’s a sweet nod. The dress being in black also feels like a little cheeky reference to the “revenge dress.”
Then she gave us a more casual moment in Christopher John Rogers. This color is so beautiful, and I love the idea of this cropped sweater having a long train behind it. I like how every shade of blue she’s wearing is different, because it feels intentional. I will say, I do wish she hadn’t worn a top/bra underneath the sweater and just let it be, but it doesn’t bother me too much.
- Seeing someone wear Zac Posen always feels so special, since Zac’s house is closed now. I love that he’s still at least making custom looks for people, because very few designers understand a woman’s body like Zac. The way these three panels of fabrics come to peaks at this string neckline is so lovely. I love the symmetry and how it just pours down the body.
- Anya Taylor-Joy is being styled by Ryan Hastings now; that man is collection it girls like infinity stones. First Taylor Russell, then Addison Rae, now Anya Taylor-Joy. Anyway, here she’s wearing Alexander McQueen, and I think the color is stunning. I also really enjoy this leather corset top and how it molds to the body. An asymmetrical skirt is very Sarah Burton, but it’s not for me. She looks like a superhero about to do a press conference.
Next she gave us a Harris Reed moment, and this I love. Anya has a cool, rockstar girlfriend, witchy, energy to her and I feel like a designer like Harris is someone she should be tapping into more. I love this lace set, and while I wish the lining of the vest was a bit crisper, I think she looks great.
Finally she wore Dior, and if anyone is going to sell me on this look, it’s Anya. To be honest, I think this is one of the better MGC lace moments. She looks like a little Christmas ornament, and I love the baby crinoline underneath. I also love how she went full runway look, pigtails and all.
- The Lindsay Lohan comeback has begun, and all is right in the world. Not only that, but Lindsay is getting the Law Roach treatment. She started her press run in this very punchy Akris suit. It’s definitely a lot, but I like that the print on print extends to the shirt as well. I wish the heel matched the punchy red of the shoe, but I’ll take it. She looks like a modern art painting; shoutout Piet Mondrian.
Next we got this lovely Valentino number, that is simple, but has a beautiful floral motif, and a well done “naked” feel. Given the fact that Lindsay is promoting her latest Christmas movie, I feel like this dress is tapping into the holiday spirit with its silver and gold shimmer. Although not incredibly fitted, this dress still manages to have a nice shape at the waist, without the need of a belt no one asked for.
Finally she gave us business woman with a bit of kink in this red corseted Versace number. It could be given a bit more pizazz, but it’s fine. I’m just excited to see Lindsay continue to serve more looks; we can only go up from here!
- Letitia Wright honored Chadwick Boseman, once again, with a custom Alexander McQueen suit jacket dress (skirt?). I like when custom looks incorporate elements from the runway, like the flipped over lapel here. It’s a simple look, but it fits quite nicely, and the embroidered ‘CB’ on the shoulder is touching.
- I like this Schiaparelli look for Maude. I like the monochrome floral print on the dress, and how the bust area also resembles little rosettes. It’s sweet, and I think Maude often likes tapping into a more “vintage starlet” vibe with her styling choices. While I appreciate the Schiaparelli gold toe platforms, I do wish we’d also went with some funky Schiaparelli earrings; it would have been the icing on the cake.
- Taylor continues to be that girl by wearing Sarah Burton’s take on Lee’s bumsters; we love a little peek-a-boo butt crack. Anyway, the pants fir very well, and this cutout suit jacket is lovely; I love the way the hanging fabric creates the feel of waistcoat tails. It’s hard to imagine someone not knowing about bumsters, but many people don’t, so seeing keeping them alive and maybe putting them on someone’s radar for the first time is nice.
- Timothée, on the other hand, gave us a very commercial Vivienne Westwood moment. This man loves tucking his skinny pants into his boots. While that’s fine, it’s not always necessary; a wrinkle or two less on the pants would have been nice. The sweater is honestly whatever, but that pearl necklace with the little diamond bones is smart. I wish Timmy went more method with his dressing.
We also got this look from Saint Laurent that is really great. I love how the shirt has a bit of a deconstructive element in how it appears that the collar and sleeves have been brought to the front of it. Again, these pants are begging to not be tucked into the boots, but Timmy is persistent. I’m obsessed with the heel of the boots, though, and I love the metallic barbed wire coming across them.
- Kim wore, you guessed it, Balenciaga to the Baby2Baby gala, and she looks like Kim. Listen, I thought this dress was cute when I saw it on the runway, and I still do. I like that Demna took a style that is very regular to him and deconstructed it a bit. The little tied bows are fun and the color is really sweet. However, I do wish Kim would change things up every once in a while. I’m also confused about how long this dress wants to be; am I supposed to see the shoes or not?
- At the same gala, Kylie gave us a lovely custom Loewe moment. Jonathan Anderson obviously has a lot of fun over at Loewe, but it’s very obvious he gan do simple just as well. I think the pleating on the top and bottom is nice, and I love the tied ribbons coming down her arms and back. The back of the jacket also has two flaps(?) which make me think that it’s supposed to look like a jacket constructed into a skirt with the collar on her butt.
So that was this week!
I know you still haven’t gotten the other fashion week reviews, but at this point, do we still want them, or should we try again next time? Let me know!
TTYL!!!
