This week is going to be quick; honestly thank god. Paris fashion week is coming, I promise. I’m waiting so I can include the Alexander McQueen show, but I promise you’ll have it by the end of this week.
Anyway, let’s get started so I can talk shit about Maeve Reilly.
The long pant hem reigns on! Also the layered leather!!!
The key takeaway from all these looks for me, is that the pregnancy bump is the ultimate accessory.
Alexander Wang…

- Lorde for Vogue Australia; This was cute! I thought the styling was fun; nothing too crazy, but I don’t hate it. The Miu Miu SS22 is also back again with no complaints from me! I think the Rodarte look was really lovely on her; there’s something interesting about the structure of that dress. The Christopher Esber wasn’t my fave, but the Acne Studio set and Saint Laurent jumpsuit were sweet. Styled by Christine Centenera.
- Jonathan Bailey for GQ Hype; I love this shoot! It’s simple, but it has just the right amount of play on fun textures and proportions. I also enjoy that all the looks feel cohesive, and that they’re not just full runway looks; there was actual styling done. The Dsquared2 sweater is delicious. The two suited looks were sweet, and I liked this shorts moment. Styled by Angelo Mitakos.
- I do love an Alaïa moment, and this look on Paloma is so major.
- Kerry Washington in Peter Do is TOO good. This top was one of my favorite pieces from the most recent collection. Essentially it’s just very large lapels tied as a top; it’s backless and so sexy.
- Okay Charli! I’m typically never impressed with what Charli is wearing, but this is a step in the right direction. These Prada dresses are simple, but so lovely, and still keep her youthful. The shoe could be better, though.
- You know what, I’m not even gonna lie, I like this top. It’s so ridiculous. It looks like she just slid her arms into pant legs, but also… kind of hot.
- Someone please release Megan Fox from Maeve Reilly’s hold; I’m SICK. Here’s the thing, this look is very KNWLS, so in that sense, it’s fine, but Maeve dresses people like they exclusively shop on Pretty Little Thing. Putting people in matching sets over and over again is not styling.
- Rosalía wore Marc Jacobs Spring 2022 for her SNL performance, and I am living for it. This is a good ass pull.
This Acne Studios dress, however, was ruined by adding a turtleneck underneath.
- I thought we were headed in a fun direction, Andrew. What happened? Why are we digressing?
He also wore this Gucci number, which is a little more interesting, but definitely on the tame side for Gucci. It fits well and I like all these colors together. I also don’t mind this Gucci monogram on the shoe, because it feels more ~vintage~ than the typical Gucci logo you see.
- Kodi is one of those people that sells me on most things. Regardless, this jacket is really lovely; the print on it is so yummy and smooth. I think it also allows for the rest of the look to be quite simple.
Here’s Kodi in another look that is simple, but made interesting by the subtle details. This fold over jacket feels very military, and I love the tie at the neck. The fit is also great.
- Kristen was wearing white pumps with this look when she walked the carpet, but I felt like this is the image I had to include, because I love how she changes shoes as soon as she possibly can. Here’s the thing, this is boring, but it’s not Chanel, and therefore it is enough for me to not want to cry. I don’t by any means love it, though.
- Alright, here’s the thing, if we wanted to go for a cute velvet suit moment, why couldn’t we have gone for Gucci? I’m sure it would have been a lot more interesting and a lot less problematic!!!
Now this is a great look for Sebastian. I love that not only are the jacket and pants plaid in this Givenchy number, but so is the shirt; it’s great. I also love how the shirt has a zipper instead of buttons; it’s a fun touch. Not sure what’s happening with the one scrunched sleeve cuff, but I’m going to choose to ignore her.
- Jared Leto wore Gucci to the Morbius premiere, as he is wont to do. It’s giving Studio 54 pimp; into it. If Jared wants to be a walking Gucci campaign, who am I to stop him? The coat makes the look.
- I do love a brown; I’m definitely a brown over black kind of person, but after seeing Jeremy in that pink velvet Prada suit, I have a standard I am now expecting.
- Anitta in this Y/Project look is major, but I wish the skirt was draped across and buttoned like it was on the runway; apart from the stunning trompe l’oeil top, that really made the look for me.
- This Gucci dress is sweet, but it’s not really giving me a moment. I just feel like adding a fur coat would have made IT.
And here is said fur coat mentioned in the previous sentence. I mean, I just feel like she was so much more into this look. The cowboy hate, the heels, the sheer bralette; so good.
Sarah Snook in vintage Bob Mackie a la Shrimpton Couture is great. It’s a simple, sequin black dress, but if you look closely theres like a lattice lining all over it. It fits her beautifully, and she looks stun. This is a stupidly picky thing, but I wish the black of the gloves matched the black of the dress more.
And that was this week! Except a couple of award show reviews in the next couple of weeks, and of course, a Paris fashion week review. It’s coming. IT’S ALL COMING.
TTYL!
