I can’t wait till I’m done with these fashion month reviews, so I can focus on some cool, fun fashion history for y’all.
Anyway, literally nothing happened this week, so let’s judge some outfits!
- Jennifer Coolidge for W; So W released their director’s issue and Jennifer Coolidge is one of the cover stars. I can’t believe she invented editorials. This is actually the only editorial I ever need to see again as far as I’m concerned. It was directed by the duo behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, so you already know you’re in for a good time. Inspired by tokusatsu, the shoot was an intergalactic fever dream that I want to be a part of. The Bad Binch TongTong custom bow dress? The purple Sue Wong cylindrical space dessert worm dress with Thom Browne Hector bad? The Godzillafication of Valentino Haute Couture? The Gucci coat and Esenshel hat making me think having a dictator wouldn’t be so bad? Perfection. Styled by Shirley Kurata.
- Michelle Williams and Paul Dano for W; Honestly, with this one I just need to bring attention to Michelle wearing that stunning Bottega dress on the piano. That is all. Styled by Mark Bridges.
- Pedro Pascal for Flaunt; Listen, I’m late to the Pedro Pascal train, but I’m on it now and I’m not getting off. Furthermore, this little fashion renaissance of his recently is everything to me, and I need him to be the next fashion “it” boy. Anyway, the Loewe jumpsuit. That is all. No, actually, also the gingham Prada top and how it’s so sweet, but has a little bit of a BDSM touch with the leather; the squiggles making a triangle is also a nice touch. Styled by Chloe Hartsteinn.
- Chris Pine for Esquire; We’re all in agreement that Chris Pine is the best Chris, right? Cool. Now, there’s two Dolce looks here, which is two too many, but other than that it’s a hole bunch of Chris Pine being hot as hell. So, enjoy. Styled by Colleen Atwood.

- We didn’t talk about this one last week right? A new addition to the sequin graphic tee! #satelliterights

- Suki Waterhouse has been doing press for Diasy Jones & The Six recently, and I appreciate the rockstar approach she’s been taking for her outfits. We know I love a bit of method dressing. This is a look from Spring 2023, aka Alessandro’s last collection, and honestly I’m surprised we haven’t seen looks from it more often. Regardless, it’s this cheongsam style dress with white boots and fur coat. I think the way it was styled on Suki is great, because it serves her 70s era character more!
- I will say, this looks originally came with jeans and I wish she’d kept them, but this feels more true to the looks we’ve seen from Cate recently. That pagoda shoulder with the polkadot pussybow blouse is scrumptious.
She also wore Loewe, and Taylor Russell wore custom Loewe to this event as well (which we’ll see later), but this look is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum and takes on traditional suiting. I love the blue lining and how the pants have a bit of a cargo feel. It’s simple, but again makes sense with what she’s been wearing recently. The jacket also has an open back, which I can’t find a photo of right now, but I promise it’s there.
- TESSA!!! I remember when Tessa said she finds outfit inspo by using the Vogue Runway app, and same. Except instead of being able to wear the actual pieces, I try and recreate them with what I have in my closet and what I can find on eBay, but same. Regardless, the girls were CUTTING for this Wiederhoeft collection, look at that waist! The draping on the neckline is also really lovely. I’m not crazy about the shoe, but.
- Hunter Schafer wore a custom Prada look inspired by the SS1997 collection. I actually believe she’s worn a look based off of this collection before, and here she’s combining the style of one dress with the color of another. I think this makes sense for Hunter— she’s a Prada girl and she also has a bit of a darker, cooler style. The white two-piece underneath makes sense with what Prada has been doing recently, but I don’t like how the neckline of the dress and tube top are different. Other than that, a lovely updated look— it has that 90s Prada minimalism, but it’s made red carpet ready.
- Quinta Brunson wore Sergio Hudson, and while I don’t understand why designers won’t hem a dress for this women, the excess fabric creating a little train actually works here. Sergio Hudson is a simple, classic American designer in the same vein as someone like Michael Kors or Donna Karan, so I don’t expect anything crazy. However, those leopard sequins are done beautifully, and the fits Quinta so well.
- Zara Larson wore a simpler Schiaparelli look, but it’s not without a Daniel Roseberry touch. If you look closely, the beautifully micro pleated breast cups have gold pierced nippled— love! I do wish that she hadn’t worn the glove, and had opted for some cool, gold Schiaparelli jewelry and gold dipped toe heels instead.
- I can’t believe she manage to make Stella McCartney era Chloé unexciting for me. Why did we pair those pants with a wrinkly pleather top? Please Olivia, give me an ounce of substance.
- I really hate the way Jacquemus does draping sometimes. It’s cool that the fabric attaches at the bust and then drapes behind her and around her wrist, but the way it’s attached feels so DIY. Around the hips it’s done fine and the corset fits well, but other than that it’s very underwhelming. Dove’s had a lot of good fashion moments, so this isn’t doing it for me.
- I <3 CJR, but the way this is styled does not do this look justice. I understand lowering the waist of the skirt makes more sense for Latto’s style, but it ruins the relationship between the corset and the skirt. I’m also not sure the gloves were necessary.
- This is a simpler Gucci look, but still has those signature ruffles. I think that part is fun, but it feels like an afterthought and I wish it was incorperated into the dress more, especially because the velvet dress isn’t all that great to begin with.
- Mia Goth is out of her Dolce & Gabbana era and in her archival doll era. We love to see it! It’s not the most groundbreaking Galliano look, but it’s still chic and fits her incredibly. I love the cowl neck and the way it’s been styled on her with headband and gold earrings is brilliant. The thicker lining on the sleeve hem also ties in the extra fabric around the neck nicely.
- She really just continues to be the moment. This Loewe dress coincides with the most recent Fall 2023 collection really nicely. It plays with this idea of what’s real and what’s not, and how things are perceived online vs. in real life. Looking at this, it has a very flat, paper doll quality to it, but the way these ribbons are structured and wrap around her creates such a beautiful shape. Taylor gets it, she does.
- You remember the kid from Moonrise Kingdom? This is him now, feel old yet? No, but Pedro is wearing Gucci, and I’m here for this buttery yellow top with puffed sleeves. The yellow sweater over top adds a preppy touch and I love the glasses, but I just wish he would for once hem his pants. Please, Pedro. Regardless, love my new fashion boy.
- Julia Fox atteneded the Courrèges show this past week, and wore a style that was seen quite a bit throughout the collection. Honestly, the bellybutton cutout is too good, and the fact that her bellybutton ring is the Courrèges logo is even better. Side note: do we think she got it pierced just for this? Anyway, I’m into it.
- Katy Perry wore vintage Bob Mackie, and this is such a good pull. Katy Perry loves a theatrical moment, and who does theatrical better than Bob Mackie? This gown was originally designed in 1989 for the San Francisco Opera’s production of ‘Lulu.’ THe embroidery is lovely and the fur trim on the hem and asymmetrical good is scrumptious.
So that was this week! Back to Milan Fashion Week reviews I go. I got a collective six hours of sleep over the past three days, so writing these reviews is feeling very, no thoughts just vibes right now.
TTYL!!!
