This week’s newsletter should just really be exclusively magazine covers because that’s really all that happened this week other than the Gucci Love Parade fashion show.
However, I am not complaining, because some of the fashion moments this week stepped on my neck over and over again and I said thank you every time!
Gucci is really in its moment right now. With it’s 100th Anniversary and the highly anticipated House of Gucci hitting theaters, the Gucci Love Parade show was the thickest layer of icing on the cake. Alessandro Michele took his love of old Hollywood, inspired by his mother and her experiences as a production assistant, and combined it with current day Los Angeles. Taking place on Hollywood Boulevard, this star studded show looked like a fever dream that I wouldn’t mind having time and time again. The atmosphere was perfect for this fantasy. With it’s sweeping gowns, sporty touches, and seductive flair, Michele made this collection a great representation of the intersections of what Hollywood and fashion remind us of today. It was luxurious, it was sexy, it was, somehow, practical. It very much gave, when you have a yoga class at 6AM, meeting at 8AM, filming from 12PM-5PM, going to a gala at 9PM, meeting up with a sneaky link at 2AM. Anyway, on my way to buy star shaped nipple pasties. Also if you are at all famous and were in the relative vicinity of this show when it happened and did not receive an invite… you need to have a talk with you manager immediately. There is no reason both of us should be experiencing this much FOMO.
Sorry, I have to talk about this, because, why? Here’s the thing, was this show actually the worst thing I watched last year? Yes. Did it leave me parched and grasping on to the sheer hope of a fashion moment? Yes. Will I be watching season two? Also, yes. DO I WANT TO DRESS LIKE EMILY COOPER?!!! NO!!!! And neither should you. We’re not talking merch, like a t-shirt with your fave bands name on the front. We’re talking actual pieces worn on the show, and actual brands featured. Mayhaps, there is hope in the fact that some better items will be chosen to be up for grabs; especially since Emily’s wardrobe isn’t the only one being offered. C’est la vie!
- Law Roach for Out; We all know Law can style a look, but he can also SERVE a look!!! I think this read is worthy of your time. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this, but Law Roach was the first stylist that really captured my attention as a bby fashion girly. I admire his work so much and I love seeing him continue to get the recognition he deserves. Styled by Law Roach.
- Måneskin for Dazed; The fashion or lack there of in this photo shoot, isn’t much, but I felt like it needed to be included, because if you don’t know this bands, then you must. Their cohesive yet individualistic styles are full of rock and roll and don’t consider gender a boundary. You can expect and email on their style soon.
- Lil Nas X for The Wall Street Journal; It thought this shoot was lovely. The subtle setup mixed withe the glamorous fashion looks was a nice contrast. Styled by Katelyn Gray.
- Lee Pace for Man About Town; Respectfully looking. All jokes aside, I haven’t been able to find much from this shoot, but I think the cover look is simple but nice! Styled by Grant Woolhead.
- Megan Thee Stallion for Glamour; I love this for Megan. I often struggle with the thought that I don’t think she wants to be a fashion girl necessarily, but I want her to be one. However, the Di Petsa cover moment is lovely, and the other looks carry that same diaphanous draping as well. I also love the use of smaller brands. Styled by Zerina Akers.
- Lady Gaga for British Vogue and Vogue Italia; First of all, I need everyone to read this because Gaga when she is promoting a movie is like no other Gaga. I think my favorite thing about this shoot, other than the gorgeous styling, is that she is promoting a movie about Gucci without wearing Gucci. Styled by Edward Enninful.
- Aya Nakamura for Vogue France; Vogue France’s first cover is a stunning one! There were some really beautiful looks in this shoot, which is no surprise given who the stylist was. Styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.
- Dakota Johnson for The Hollywood Reporter; Mommy? Sorry. Mommy? Sorry. Mommy? I do love this woman, however, more outfit shots would have been cute and fun and appreciated. Styled by Kate Young.
- Sarah Jessica Parker for Vogue; This is the kind of shit I want to see Carrie wearing. Let’s transfer this same energy over. PLEASE. However the D*lce look on the cover was… a choice. THe CJR, Alexander McQueen moment would have been better for obvious reasons. Also so more shots of the actual clothing, please. Styled by Tabitha Simmons.
-Gemma Chan for Vogue Singapore; She’s been wearing a lot of Miss Sohee lately, and I’m into it. This was a lovely shoot. I want the best looks always for Miss Gemma because I feel very heart eyes emoji about her. Styled by Konca Aykan.
Jordan Roth in this Thom Browne moment is everything. I can always count on him for a moment.
Lil Nas X did not come to play!!! Yeah, yeah, I know you’re tired of me talking about my love for Thom Browne. But this is lovely. The coat, the skirt, the crop top, THE BAG! Paired Rick Owens boots, how could I not love?
I’ve been obsessed with Chet Lo. Leave it to Dula Peep to wear one of his looks.
I think Cynthia looks so lovely in this Armani Privé gown. The lines in the front accentuate her body and show that YOU DON’T NEED TO PUT A BELT ON EVERYTHING.
Me begging on my hands and knees for Chanel to release Kristen Stewart.
Gaga continuing to NOT wear Gucci to promote House of Gucci.
Lori Harvey in vintage Roberto Cavalli. She looks stunning. Very understated for Cavalli, yet identifiable.

Yahya Abdul-Marteen ll in this Fear of God look made me gasp. It’s casual but elegant. The perfect amount of oversized.
Dua Lipa in Blu Marine obvi makes sense and I guess I don’t hare it, but I feel like the choker should be thiner. She’s too thicc.
That’s all folks! Unfortunately I did not proofread this because i g2g watch The Eternals and need to get this out heehee.
Hope I didn’t sound too illiterate. Toodles!
