This week’s newsletter has other stuff in it, but really what matters more than Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet serving look after look for Dune premieres and events. Some might say it is peak bestie.
Apologies for the delay, I’ve been very busy and also very in my own head and just like wondering what the point of anything is, you know? Anyway, fashion!
Let us begin.
I’m not gagged by this shimmery Saint Laurent look, but I do like it! I enjoy the cut of the blazer and i don’t mind the bagginess of the pants. I like the tank underneath and the boot is fine.
I very much enjoy this berries and cream moment. Stella, I’ll give you this one. The shoe however… it’s a no for me.
Every time my brain tells me that I shouldn’t go watch that sand movie, because I know I won’t like it, this photo bitch slaps the thought away. This is my favorite look of the three. Yes, it’s simple, but it fits well and the zippers add a fun touch. I like the shirt and necklaces underneath instead of a button up and tie. The bone structure is also part of the outfit.
This was one of my favorite Peter Do looks from the latest collection and I think Zendaya looks great. But also, when does she not? ALSO, I would like to mention that there were a couple more Zendaya looks I wanted to address but I could not find a good photo for the life of me.
Okay this custom Nensi Dojaka is everything to me. It plays off of a look from the most recent collection beautifully. I just stared at this photo for approximately three minutes before continuing to type. Empty brain, no thoughts, just love.
Love this! It’s fun, it’s interesting, it’s hot.
Last but most certainly not least, Zendaya in Rick Owens. The structure, the sequins, the subtle fraying. Truly the chicest sci-fi sand worm I have ever seen in my entire life.
Respectfully, as beautiful as these two humans are, I will not be watching the desert movie probably.
I thought Ming Ma was very sweet. It wasn’t a show I would normally be drawn to, but I found myself really enjoying the elegance and romance playing with the fun silhouettes. The intense colors and sharp shapes remind the sweetness that they will, in fact, cut a bitch. I can definitely see these designs getting the attention and wear they deserve.
Well, Ashish was a fun time! You know when parents get something their child drew tattooed on them? This was like that, but instead taking those drawings and making them fashion. I don’t mean for that to sound negative, I did like the collection! I wasn’t blown away and there were moments I could have done without, but I love a good punchy color and I like seeing things that are fun and carefree every once in a while. It was a playful fantasy that I think we all need sometimes.
First of all, can I just say that Bottega’s rise without the presence of any social media has been fascinating. Also, just like, inventing the color green. I didn’t hate this collection, however I was a little bored tbh. I enjoyed the workwear and activewear feel with the structured “couture-ish” looks. It’s fine.
Zendaya has been chosen as this year’s CFDA Fashion Icon, as she should. Her relationship and collaboration with Law Roach is something that deserves recognition. She’s the youngest to receive the award. I attended the CFDA Awards (I don’t know why either) the year Beyoncé got this award. Jay-Z and Blue Ivy were standing behind me, and when I turned around I got scared because I didn’t realize he was that tall.
- Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Lauren Ridloff, and Salma Hayek for Elle; I know there were more people in the Women in Hollywood edition, however I am a Marvel bitch, and I will be focusing on my The Eternals women!!! The focus seemed to be on Angie, and I did love her shoot, but I would have loved to see more interesting shots of the other girls, especially Lauren. The styling could have also been more interesting. Styled by Elizabeth Stewart.
- Miley Cyrus for Interview; I really loved this shoot, Mel’s styling is so fun and fresh, I’m starting to look forward to it more and more. Also, the Robert Crumb inspo!!! Styled by Mel Ottenberg.
- The Little Lad for Paper; No, because I’m OBSESSED. This isn’t a cover shoot, but it has to be included. The styling is too good. My smile just gets bigger and bigger every time I look at these photos. Styled by Caitlan Hickey.
Steve Harvey is in his fashion icon era.
Emma Watson in Harris Reed was most pleasing to me.
Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Zahara, wearing her old Oscar’s gown was so sweet.
Okay Miss Perry in LaQuan Smith!!!
Adele in that LV coat sitting court side. She said, why yes, I am very rich.
Now Naomi, why did we have to add a belt to this Alexander McQueen look??? Do tell??!!??!?!!?
I had the fattest crush on Kida. Doja reminded me I still do!!!
Losing my mind over Pete Davidson and Ziwe for Rowing Blazers.
Telfar is dropping a PUFFER shopping bag, right after I just purchased a bag(: it’s fine(: I’m fine(:
Oscar Isaac’s fitting for Scenes From a Marriage. RespectfuLLY LOOKING.
Spike Lee in this Louis Vuitton x NBA look??? A moment.
So there you have it. A light, fun week. I have something exciting I’m writing up for you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. If you end up hating it, please don’t tell me. My ego can’t take it. Anyway, enjoy your lyfe. I will be thinking about whether I should watch Dune, for the fashion, every 10 minutes.
xx
