Boring Fashion Brands, Stop Stealing The Hot Fashion Girls, and other stuff
This Week In Fashion
So… how did everyone like the Halloween costume newsletter? Did we learn something?!!?!?! Great. Love to hear it.
Anyway, I will definitely be reviewing celebrity Halloween costumes, stay tuned. Until then, let’s get into this week’s happenings.
The Kims are collabing!!! Tbh, it’s not clicking for me. I feel like Skims is just not developed enough for this kind of collab. It’s definitely for people who eat logomania UP! Also, Miss Kimberly has exclusively been wearing Balenciaga lately, so this is like, random? ALSO, creative direction feels very Yeezy. The collection drops November 9.
Casey Cadwallader has a way of shaping the body in such a flattering way. This Mugler collection did more of the same while exploring some new elements. Instead of primarily black, Cadwallader is incorporating some colorful, stretchy fabrics. I also really liked the chain elements in the looks. Overall, the clothing is movable and interesting, however the collection does make me scrunch my forehead at moments.
Anya Taylor-Joy has been named Dior’s newest brand ambassador, and I am SICK of all these boring brands stealing the hot fashion girls. Also, tea, Anya isn’t working with Law Roach anymore because he dragged Dior and that would interfere with her contract. WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS?! I guess… I have to… admit, Anya has worn some of the better Dior looks, so maybe there is hope(?)
Susan Korn has opened a storefront for her iconic brand and the whole store feels like stepping inside of one of her purses. This is so fun and exciting!!! I can’t wait to visit for myself.
With the release of their new coffee table book, VLogo Signature, Valentino is partnering with Casa Magazine. The shop has been a downtown staple for print publications for years. It’s one of the last of its kind still standing, and because of COVID-19 it has struggled. Valentino is the latest to help keep this iconic business afloat by donating a percentage of proceeds from books sold to Casa.
- Cynthia Erivo for The Cut; Honestly felt like I was looking at a lookbook, these shots are stunning. Loving all the Schiaparelli, and that Panconesi top, yum. Styled by Jessica Willis.
- Kim Kardashian West and Kim Jones for The Wall Street Journal; Promoting the collab I see. The photos of Kim with the headband are giving, Girl with a Pearl Earring, but make it spandex. Styled by Giovanni Dario Laudicina.
- Lily-Rose Depp for Hommegirls; A Chanel girl in her Chanel world. It’s cute. Better styling than the Chanel runway. The Airpods Pro case strapped to the leg though!!! Styled by Stella Greenspan.
- Jennifer Coolidge for Paper; She’s giving us cottagecore fantasy and I’m obsessed. Styled by Marko Monroe.
- Law Roach for Paper; These shots are so good. The luxury!!! Styled by Roberto Johnson.
- Lily Collins for Nylon; It’s giving Lydia Deetz and I’m obsessed!!! This is what I want for Emily when she’s in Paris. Styled by Danielle Goldberg.
- Tracee Ellis Ross for Harper’s Bazaar; I do love this for Tracee very much!!! Minus the Dolce heehee. Styled by Samir Nasr.
Tessa said bride and groom. That Giambattista Valli look is so sweet.
Love Tracee in Loewe. Can I teach pilates in this?
Angie’s waist is gone in this Versace number. Also, this Valentino look feels very, The Eternals.
Anya’s Last Night in Soho press run gave color palette, it gave mod, it gave I’m going to kill someone if we lose these fashion moments because of the Dior contract.
Lorde in Loewe giving kaleidoscope dream.
Talk to you soon bbys. We have costumes to judge!!!
